Thankful Thursday

1. Over the last few weeks we've only had a few ants in our kitchen, which is a big improvement.

2. I can start teaching today! I was issued 50%foot of my contract yesterday, which is evidently enough for me to start teaching. Hopefully today I'll be able to sign the full contract this afternoon when I meet with HR to do my I-9 and other paperwork. I'm not at all thrilled with the rank/step where they put me for this semester, but they did come up a little bit, and a month ago I didn't think I'd be earning any money this semester so something is better than nothing. Praying that it won't take long for everything to get set up by the university - meaning giving me an email account, giving me access to the learning management software, giving me a parking permit, giving me a key to my office and the computers in the classroom, etc. The last minute nature of everything has been stressful for me, but hopefully in the near future things will settle down.

3. Tab is going to take the kids to the Montour Preserve today for a nature scavenger hunt that was a part of our science curriculum this week. She's going to do an awesome job teaching my kids on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'm very thankful for her!

4. Maurice made it back safely to Texas. We are praying for the people dealing with the horrible flooding in that state!

5. The Towfighis made it back safely to Turkey. We are praying for one of their suitcases to be found by the airline.

6. Margie was cleared by her pulmonolgist to have foot surgery tomorrow.

7.  The washing machine has been working again, and I even was able to wash some towels and sheets yesterday. I doubt it's going to last too much longer, but I've decided to hold off on replacing to see if we can at least get a few more months out of this one.

8. I have been printing like crazy due to my job at Bloomsburg. I'm so thankful we switched to a laser printer earlier this summer, as it is much more efficient when it comes to ink/toner usage.

9. Aside from issues I continue to have with my eyes, we are all healthy!!!
