Thankful Thursday

1. We had a lovely time at DelGrosso's Amusement Park with Paul's parents last Thursday.

2. The kids really enjoyed the Acorn Family Festival on Saturday afternoon.

3. Nadia and Ian had a nice time building their taco trucks at Lowe's on Saturday morning with Paul.

4. We enjoyed our time bowling and riding the paddle wheel boat on Tuesday night.

5. Paul and I watched an excellent movie on DVD (Captain Phillips) on Saturday night.

6. Paul, Ian, and Nadia saw "Turbo" at the theater for $3 total yesterday morning. Oliver and I did some shopping in the mall while they watched the movie. I got Nadia a new pair of sneakers at Payless, Oliver a shirt at Children's Place for our upcoming photo shoot, and myself a new blouse at JCP.

7. The weather has been cooler than normal lately, which means it has been nice to spend time in the backyard and at the playground. It's supposed to be warmer today; hopefully we'll be able to make it to the swimming pool this afternoon!

8. I finished reading Trumpet of the Swan to the kids a few days ago. We all thoroughly enjoyed the book. The other two (Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little) seem to garner more attention, but I think this one is a gem! When Nadia was drawing with chalk on the driveway on Tuesday afternoon she said she drew Serena and her cynets (swam and babies). I love reading these books again that I haven't read since I was a child!

9. Everyone enjoyed eating dinner last night (tuna noodle casserole and green beans). I still consider meals like that to be a small miracle (I'm not counting when they're eating something like pizza or a hot dog). Progress!

10. Nadia was given a speaking part in the musical! The last two years she didn't have any speaking parts or solos. Typically they only give those to kids age 8 and up, but she has a small speaking part (about 5 lines) this year.
