We started trying to have children in May 2002. After pursuing fertility treatments, domestic, and international adoption, our daughter Nadia Renee was born on 6-24-08 (at 36w4d). IVF #2 resulted in Ian Alexander, who was born on 12-12-09 (at 34w3d). Oliver Elliot (IVF #3) was born on 8-7-12 (at 31w6d)! Three other pregnancies (in 2005, 2007, and 2013) ended in miscarriage. Our family is complete! We are so thankful for our three miracles!

All Done!!
I have finished all my grading and submitted my final mileage report and all the course grades for the semester! WOOHOO! I asked my department chair about the next semester, and she said first it depends on Frank (the man who has been on leave for the last year), overloads (how many faculty want them and how many the Dean approves), and the search committee. Frank has to give word as to whether he is retiring or returning by this Friday. He told me during the fall 2017 semester that he wasn't coming back, which leads me to assume he is retiring, but until it's official, they can't offer me a contract. Another professor did make it official that he's retiring this summer, which means it seems they WILL need adjuncts, but that's the answer I got. At this time last year I knew I was returning. This time around I am still in suspense.
In addition to grading, cooking dinner, and working with Oliver on reading, I also took a 3 mile walk and spent hours working on what books I want to read related to history each week of our school year next year. I am not done with that project, but I made a lot of progress. On Monday all three kids left the house on their bikes while I walked. This time Ian walked with me and the other two rode their bikes. Nadia didn't go the full way. She turned around and went home and played in the backyard until we got back. Ian and I walked three miles total today. I'm not sure why Ian prefers to walk, but he was able to keep up just fine so it wasn't a problem. I've hit a plateau with my weight loss. I'm hoping that adding more exercise to my weekly schedule will help me see the number start going down again.
