Thankful Tuesday

1. Paul's mom was moved from the ICU to a regular room in the hospital yesterday. 

2. We had an enjoyable play date at the park last Thursday with other homeschooling families.

3. The weather was really lovely most of last week! I walked over 30 miles over a period of 8 days! I am positive I won't log as many miles this week, but hopefully there will be other weeks in the coming months when I walk at least 25 miles a week. 

4. The kids enjoyed the Hak4kidz conference on Saturday - especially the escape rooms, Lego animation workshop, and the Edison robot programming session. I've already purchased a stop motion app, and I believe I'll be buying an Edison Robot sometime over the next several months. It was refreshing to do a field trip as we haven't done many over the past year. Everyone was wearing masks or shields and using copious amounts of hand sanitizer.

5. The kids were thankful for the chocolate bunnies they received at the drive-thru egg hunt on Saturday.

6. Milo didn't have any accidents while we were gone for 5+ hours on Saturday!

7. The grass has turned green and the hyacinth are in bloom!!!

8. Nadia enjoyed having lunch and a quizzing practice after church at her coach's home on Sunday.

9. They are talking about resuming the adult choir at our church in about a month!!!

 10. Paul survived his crazy schedule last week. He left for work before 3AM most days and got home after 9pm most days. He went to bed after I did so I have no idea how much sleep he got, but it wasn't very much. He's spending the night at his dad's home last night and tonight, which means either he'll have more time to work or he'll get some more sleep. He wasn't really spending any time with the kids or I, so the two hour round trip commute seemed to be in vain in my opinion. He left yesterday morning around 6:30am with leftovers to eat for dinner tonight and tomorrow. He's planning to come home around 8:30pm tomorrow night. When he doesn't get much sleep I am concerned about him staying awake while driving. I feel much better knowing his commute (to his dad's house) is extremely short.

11. Aunt Janet was fine with us switching the dates for our trip to spend a week with her in July. This meant I was able to sign Nadia up for a two week (four hour per day) outdoor theatre camp. It's for grades 6-11, and they'll be putting on a production of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. Many places aren't offering a theatre camp again this summer due to COVID. I'm thankful she has an opportunity to be in an outdoor theatre camp and that it only costs $50, which is far less than what I've paid for her theatre camps over the last eight years!
