We started trying to have children in May 2002. After pursuing fertility treatments, domestic, and international adoption, our daughter Nadia Renee was born on 6-24-08 (at 36w4d). IVF #2 resulted in Ian Alexander, who was born on 12-12-09 (at 34w3d). Oliver Elliot (IVF #3) was born on 8-7-12 (at 31w6d)! Three other pregnancies (in 2005, 2007, and 2013) ended in miscarriage. Our family is complete! We are so thankful for our three miracles!

Happy Mother's Day!
The words "happy" and "Mother's Day" have not gone together for me for more than 10 years. This year is very different! My daughter is kicking within me and will be in my arms in a few weeks! I have received my first 3 Mother's Day cards. The first came from Millie (sil), the second was an e-card from Donna (friend from church), and the third was from Paul. The first two were for an expectant mother. Paul's was for a mother. I made a comment about the card saying I'm a wonderful (wife and) mother, and Paul said something like I'm taking good care of my daughter now while she's inside me. I guess some might say next Mother's Day will be my first, but I agree with Paul that I already feel like a mother now. :-) Today we are going to have lunch with Paul's parents, grandmother, brother, sister-in-law, niece, and nephew as we celebrate Mother's Day and Millie's bday. I have often skipped church on Mother's Day the last several years, but those days are now behind me. :-) I was supposed to play the piano in the 10:45 service today, but I found a replacement as it's a 1 hour drive from church to where we're having lunch with Paul's family. I am going to the 8:00 service instead. I will say my church is more sensitive than most as they honor all women on Mother's Day, not just mothers. Kudos to them for that! Well to all you moms out there - Happy Mother's Day!
