March 12

I called the RE today and spoke with the ivf nurse. First, I spoke with the receptionist, and she asked if we had any frozen embryos. Nope, Nadia was our one and only frozen embryo. I wish we did, but I am thankful we had at least one as otherwise we wouldn't be parents right now. I asked the nurse if we had to do ALL the testing again. She said yes. I asked in particular about the measuring of the uterus. I found that to be VERY painful - second only to the egg retrieval. She said yes because being pregnant has changed the size of my uterus. I remember in June 2007 they said it would be a 5 hour appointment, but it wasn't quite that long. She didn't give a total length this time. I think at least we could skip the class part of it.
At first I tried to schedule the appt for sometime in February, but then she told me they only do these initial ivf appointments on Thursday mornings. So that means we need to do it during Paul's spring break as he has class on Thursday morning and then TA's until 5:30pm. So I scheduled our appts for March 12. Last time we had the first appt on June 28 and had the retrieval on August 1. So I am sure March 12 is soon enough as the soonest I think we'd do the ER would be May. Every time I feel dread about doing ivf again I just think about Nadia, and then I am very willing to do it all again. I think it would be very nice for Nadia to have a brother or a sister, don't you? :-)
