23 Months Old!

Nadia is exactly one month away from turning two years old. If you ask her how old she is, she says "three." That's because three is currently her favorite number, if you ask her any question that involves a number for an answer, three is what she says. Her favorite color is yellow at the moment; it used to be green. If you ask her any color question, the answer will be "yellow." I am glad she's not already turning three. She's growing up fast enough as it is!

She's now usually talking in sentences or phrases rather than just words. Her vocabulary continues to grow grow grow! Thankfully she's gotten back on track with sleeping in later in the morning. In fact this morning she got up the latest she has ever gotten up over the past 23 months - 8:45am! WOW! I am not expecting her to regularly sleep in anywhere near that long, but I am thankful she's not getting up at 5:15 these days. I am not sure why she got up early in Florida, but I'm glad she's back on a better schedule. She's gotten really good at catching a ball that is thrown to her. She can also throw and kick a ball although she does a better job of catching. She still loves doing puzzles, playing in her sandbox, going down slides, swinging, running, singing, coloring, watching VeggieTales or Curious George, playing with play-doh, and playing rough house. I took this short video of her singing Twinkle, Twinkle this morning. I want to make more videos of her singing other songs in the very near future. She usually sings more words and louder than she did in this one, but I figured this one was good enough to share. :-)

Skills that I want to work with her on over the next month include transitioning away from a sippy cup, drinking more water (and less milk), potty training, sharing toys with Ian, and her self-feeding skills.
