No Doctors!

Drumroll, please. As I looked at my calendar for this week, I noticed the absence of ANY doctor appointments! This is probably the norm for most people, but I have seen a doctor (for myself or for one of my kids) every week over the past four months, and for the majority of that time I saw a doctor every day (mostly MFM and NICU doctors). Although I appreciate the help doctors provide, I'm hoping to avoid their presence this week. The next few weeks after this week we do have appointments every week so this string won't last longer than one week (yet). Oliver has had some eye discharge over the past 4 weeks. His eye looked worse this morning, and I thought this might threaten to ruin our "doctor free" week, but now it looks the same as it has the past month. This pic below wasn't taken today. I took it after a bath before we put in his new cannula.

Last night was a really rough night. Oliver wouldn't sleep any where except in my arms. Today I had him take his naps in his crib to see if that would help. Over the past 4 weeks he's been taking his naps downstairs in the pack 'n play. His first nap was rather long. I kept wishing he would have given me a stretch like that last night as this Mom is tired! The upside of the long nap was that I finally tackled some long overdue cleaning tasks. I cleaned the inside of the microwave, toaster oven, and refrigerator. I also cleaned the sinks, mirrors, and toilets in all three bathrooms. I have smiled every time I've opened the refrigerator today. It felt very good to start getting back in gear with keeping our home clean. The weather was gorgeous today so we enjoyed a trip to the playground (the top and bottom pictures in this post were taken today). Here's to hoping and praying for more sleep tonight. It's hard to clean and go to the playground and such on very little sleep.
