We started trying to have children in May 2002. After pursuing fertility treatments, domestic, and international adoption, our daughter Nadia Renee was born on 6-24-08 (at 36w4d). IVF #2 resulted in Ian Alexander, who was born on 12-12-09 (at 34w3d). Oliver Elliot (IVF #3) was born on 8-7-12 (at 31w6d)! Three other pregnancies (in 2005, 2007, and 2013) ended in miscarriage. Our family is complete! We are so thankful for our three miracles!

He's DONE!
As of 12:30pm, Paul became Dr. Kennedy! There are now two Dr. Kennedys in the family. When I told Nadia that I became Dr. Kennedy 10 years ago, she said "You were born before I was born!". I laughed and said yes I became Dr. Kennedy before you were born. I was trying to explain to the kids that we're not medical doctors. I told them that Grandpa has a doctorate in the Bible, Mommy's is in teaching, Aunt Wendy's is in the violin, and Daddy's is in chemistry. Uncle Drayton should be the next one to achieve this milestone in our extended family. I hung a "Congratulations" banner, and Nadia made a card that read "Good job Daddy! I love you!". When he came home we greeted him with applause, cheering, and hugs. Paul will clean out his office and such on Monday and Tuesday and start working for his dad on Wednesday. We are so proud of Paul, and I am so relieved that his seven years of being a full-time graduate student are over now. We survived! Paul's parents are coming up tomorrow, and all seven of us are going to TGIF to celebrate. Paul loves a steak dinner!
Other happy news of the day would be that Oliver slept 10 hours straight for the first time in 5 days, Nadia can now independently read the first two BOB books, and I discovered that Ian already knows 17 letters of the alphabet. I hadn't tried to teach him any yet, but he overhears things that I'm teaching Nadia. He's motivated to learn the other 9 letters as then I promised him a pirate puzzle.
