Although he's only at 1.1 percentile for his weight (13lb 3oz), he sure has grown a lot over the past six months! He's worn five different sizes of diapers. He's gone from preemie extra small to preemie small to newborn to size one, and now he's wearing size two diapers. In clothing he's gone from preemie to newborn to 0-3 month, and now he's mostly wearing size 3-6 month although some 0-3 month still fits him. He's wearing his 3rd pram (started with newborn size in that to save money although it was very big on him at first), and is moving into his third type of car seat this week (started in a car bed). One thing that's gotten smaller over the past few months is his belly button. To an average person his belly button still would be classified as huge, but in reality it's gone down in size about 75%.
Over the past six months he's learned how to breathe, maintain his body temperature, sleep in his crib, smile, laugh, coo, nurse, drink from a bottle, roll over, suck his thumb, and support his head. Over the next six months he'll probably learn to sit, crawl, stand, eat solid food, say a few words, play with toys, and walk (if he takes after his big sister). I've fed him a little baby food by spoon twice now over the past few days. He's still figuring out how to work his tongue as most of it comes back out (in a larger quantity than I put in due to adding saliva to the mix). I decided to start with fruit instead of cereal after the struggles I had with Ian for so long. We'll progress to cereal and veggies once he figures out how to swallow and decides that food on a spoon is yummy.
