We got more snow yesterday morning. You can tell we've had plenty of snow this winter because the kids had no interest in going out to play in it, and it was good packing snow, too! It was much warmer out today. The kids played in the back yard after lunch, and I took Ian and Oliver to a park while Nadia was in her ballet/tap class. It was time for Oliver's afternoon nap so he fell asleep in the swing at the playground. I am hoping that we won't see snow again until December, and I'd really love it if the temps were warm enough to resume regular trips to the playground. Aside from the nicer weather, the best news of the day was that Paul was invited to do another phone interview next week (for a tenure track position in New York). It will actually take place a few days before the phone interview with the school in North Carolina. Also, based on emails he received from Colgate University today, I think he'll be having a phone interview with them as well (for a 2 year teaching post doc position).
Today I spoke with the man who was my mortgage broker the last three times I bought a house. He confirmed the realtor was correct that a seller can't back out of a contract (I knew from experience that a buyer can back out so I assumed a seller could as well). In light of the fact that there is now a small chance that we'd want to stay in this house, we are going to wait until May to put our house on the market (unless Paul receives a job offer before then). This also gives us more time to get some things done around the house before we try to sell it. If we do put the house on the market later than planned, I hope it goes under contract quickly so that settlement can take place in July or August.
