Yesterday I finished reading the book Mr. Popper's Penguins to the kids. They loved it! I love listening to them while they play because they often incorporate what we've read into their dramatic play. Ian has been saying lately he wants to be a fire fighter, and the other day he said he was going to be a fire fighter who lives in Antartica. I tried to explain that there probably wasn't much need for a fire fighter in a place that contains so much ice! In light of all the discussion about penguins, I decided to get out the size 24 month pjs that Nadia and Ian wore in the past. So here are my 3 penguins! The first picture is of Oliver (24 months old), the second is of Ian (26 months old), and the third is of Nadia (16 months old). Looking at these three pics together confirms in my mind that I think Oliver looks more like Nadia even though most people tell me he looks just like Ian. I love my three little penguins SO much!
We started trying to have children in May 2002. After pursuing fertility treatments, domestic, and international adoption, our daughter Nadia Renee was born on 6-24-08 (at 36w4d). IVF #2 resulted in Ian Alexander, who was born on 12-12-09 (at 34w3d). Oliver Elliot (IVF #3) was born on 8-7-12 (at 31w6d)! Three other pregnancies (in 2005, 2007, and 2013) ended in miscarriage. Our family is complete! We are so thankful for our three miracles!
