Long Island Game Farm

On Monday and Tuesday we swam in a pool, ate lunch at Janet's house, and then spent the rest of the day at the beach. Today we plan to return to that schedule with the exception that we are going to visit the Long Island Museum en route to the beach. Yesterday's schedule was different in that we didn't go to the beach as we had the previous three days. We left around 9:30 for the Long Island Game Farm, which is a petting zoo. Including lunch, we spent three hours there. On the way back home we made a detour so that Aunt Janet could show us a restaurant that her son-in-law had designed and decorated. It's a Tex-Mex restaurant so we also purchased some take-out food to have for dinner later. Then we swam in her outdoor pool for a couple of hours before dinner. After dinner the kids watched some television, and then Nadia, Aunt Janet, and I started a game of Monopoly. The boys played with some toys Aunt Janet had in her basement.

Our first stop at the wildlife park was Bambiland. Aunt Janet purchased some food, and Nadia, Ian, and Janet fed some

deer. Oliver was too scared to feed any animals yesterday. I fed a few but mostly was snapping photos. I wish I had a photo of the cow trying to eat Janet's purse. That was a hoot! Then we watched two 11 week old red foxes (neither was actually the color red) play, which was delightful. After bottle feeding some baby goats and such, we watched the keeper feed four lemurs. Next we enjoyed feeding Clifford the giraffe. We didn't purchase any tickets to climb on the platform and feed him because he bent his head right down to everyone. We visited and fed some other animals and had lunch. Our last presentation was to see the alligators being fed. Some days they have a show on the main stage, but yesterday the crowds were very low and they didn't do anything on the main stage. The only presentation we missed was the camel encounter because they only did that at 3:30. The weather was perfect for our day at the zoo.
