First Sleepover

Nadia had her first sleepover at our house last spring; she also attended a friend's sleepover birthday party last year. The last time Isaiah and Micah were over for a play date, Micah mentioned he'd like to have a sleepover. I said that would be fine. Their mom thought it would be better if both boys came over because they're not using to being separated. Isaiah is 5 1/2 years old, and Micah will be turning 8 in two months. After homeschool gym class and my ladies Bible study were over at 11:30 yesterday, I brought five kids home with me ages 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10. We had lunch, and then they played for a few hours. They mostly played inside although they did jump on the trampoline a little. I allowed four of them to play the Wii for about 45 minutes while Oliver played on the iPad. We picked up pizza for dinner, and after eating dinner the boys watched Kung Fu Panda while Nadia watched the Incredibles. I inflated two air mattresses and made their beds. Isaiah slept in Oliver's room, and Micah slept in Ian's room. Isaiah really wanted his mom to come snuggle with him before he went

to sleep, but when he realized that would mean he would be going home, he accepted snuggles from his brother instead. Isaiah, Micah, and Nadia were the first ones up this morning. They played for a bit downstairs before Ian and Oliver woke up. I asked the boys what they would like for breakfast, and they asked for French toast. Oliver, Isaiah, and Micah had French toast. I made scrambled eggs for Nadia, and Ian had a bowl of cereal. The kids played for a little bit more, and then it was time to go to Nadia's basketball game. Their mom was already at the church. Overall, I think everyone had a good time. Oliver cried quite a bit, which makes me think that he's probably not ready for a sleepover at their house. I realize he cries easily, but it seemed at times that he was the odd man out (was excluded by the other four).

There are only six basketball games left - three on March 2 and three on March 9. We have a bye week next week. Paul and I are ready for it to be done. Ironically I only took pictures of Nadia and Oliver today, and Ian was the one who scored a basket. Oops! Actually though Ian had very little contact with the ball during the whole game, but the one time he touched the ball he scored a basket! Nadia played better defense today, particularly in the first half. Her team lost (again). They don't keep score in the K/1 games. Ian's team is 6-0 (undefeated!). At the start of the season their coach promised to do the chicken dance if they were undefeated the whole season. Looks like he might get a chance to fulfill that promise!
