We started trying to have children in May 2002. After pursuing fertility treatments, domestic, and international adoption, our daughter Nadia Renee was born on 6-24-08 (at 36w4d). IVF #2 resulted in Ian Alexander, who was born on 12-12-09 (at 34w3d). Oliver Elliot (IVF #3) was born on 8-7-12 (at 31w6d)! Three other pregnancies (in 2005, 2007, and 2013) ended in miscarriage. Our family is complete! We are so thankful for our three miracles!

Back to BFP weight
I absolutely promise I have not been dieting the last few days. For example on Thursday night I had 3 slices of pizza for dinner and before the bfp I always would have 2 slices. I have been snacking FAR more than when not pg - apple here, popcorn there, etc. But I have been back to eating my regular foods vs. on vacation eating out far more than usual. Plus the other times during the pgcy that I weighed myself at home it was always FIRST thing in the morning whereas the last two times I weighed myself it was after eating breakfast etc. So anyhow I am back to the weight I was the first time I weighed myself after the bfp. And that was my goal. Back then (at 4w pg) I remember telling Paul I hoped to just maintain this weight during the first tri. Then I went down 5 lb and then back up to the bfp weight and then post vacation was 4 lb above the bfp weight. So anyhow I am happy that I have met my goal. I know I will gain weight in the 2nd and 3rd tris. I also know it's totally fine to not gain weight in the 1st tri. We shall see what the nurse and OB say on Tuesday, but my thinking has been that I should try to keep my pgcy weight gain to around 20 pounds or maybe 25 at the most since I was a little overweight to start with. Now I am going to go back to just weighing myself once a week. I was never weighed at the RE's, but I am sure I'll be weighed on Tuesday. On a final note, if my calculations are correct and I am 13w2d pg today, that means today I have officially entered the 2nd tri. YAHOOOOO! PTL!!!! Allison (a woman I know online) had a 5d FET exactly 7 days before my 6d FET. Her RE told her how far she was along and it's exactly 7 days before when I have figured I was. So it seems all REs don't agree on how to calculate an EDD post FET! I'll stop going back and forth after Dr. O tells me what he believes my EDD is.

EDDs are just estimated anyway and there are several different methods of calculating them. Baby will come whenever Baby wants! When I was pregant with Michael, I really wanted to know my due date right away so I looked at a medical calculator program I had and came up with a due date of 3/31. When I had my first prenatal appointment several weeks later, they gave me a due date of 4/2. But in my mind, I had already determined my due date to be 3/31 and stuck with it since it didn't really matter anyway. Turns out, he was born on 4/2! With this baby, I was content to just say "mid-April" before I got a due date from my midwife. Even though I have a due date now, I still think "mid-April" is probably more accurate.
(Gee, could I do anymore commenting on your blog lately?!?!?!)
I know...baby will come when he or she is ready no matter what the EDD is. I was born a few weeks early for example (and I'm the oldest child). It's just at certain times like today wanting to say "today I entered the 2nd tri" that I prefer the EDD the calculators online give me to the one Dr. A gave me. :-) Like two days are really THAT big a deal, LOL!
P.S. I love comments on the blog!!!
