Stats

Well I am not sure what info I have omitted that I should share, but Jo asked a few questions so I will give those stats. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! I hope to add photos this evening. My #1 priority right now is feeding her. Thankfully her doctor gave her permission to start nursing today. I've fed her 3 times so far today, and at 8pm I will be doing feeding #4. I plan to go to the NICU to feed her every 3 hours even throughout the night. She was successful her first try which was SUCH a relief to me as nothing has been coming out when I've been pumping, and I've been pumping every 2 hours.

Nadia Renee was born at 5:40pm on June 24 weighing 6 lbs 2 oz and was 19 1/4 inches long. As is normal, she has lost some weight so she's under 6 lbs now. June 24 was the 2,239th day since we started ttc; I am SO glad our countdown to becoming parents is now over! PTL! One of the funniest questions I have been asked (by several nurses and also a couple of OBs) the last 2 days is - what kind of birth control will you be using. Birth control?!?! When I let the person know that we started ttc 6 years ago, and Nadia was once a frozen embryo, they smile and don't expect an answer to the question. :-) She has blue eyes. We shall see if they stay blue or not. Paul has blue eyes. She has a REALLY "outie" belly button. No idea where she got that as Paul and I have innies, LOL. Her chin and nose look like Paul's in most people's opinion. She gets the most compliments on her lips, but overall we just think she's so perfect. She couldn't be any cuter to us even when she's crying, LOL. Her hair is dark brown and she has quite a bit especially in the back.

Paul had his first experience (ever) changing a baby's diaper today. It was only a wet one so he still gets to look forward to his first messy one at some point in the future. It is SO wonderful to see him with her. He's such a great dad!!! He looks forward to seeing her, holding her, etc. just as much as I do. :-) I am just so very thankful that the Lord has brought her into our lives, and I am so thankful for all the prayers and encouragement so many have given us over the past 6 years in this journey. Your words of congratulations mean soooo much to me. I can sense that so many are celebrating in this joyous occasion with us - some I know in person and some I have only known online. I thank ALL of you for sharing in our joy!!!! I'll post more when I can with some photos but it's time to head to the NICU for her 8pm feeding!

Surely the angels must have been singing when they saw you first hold her. I can't think of anyone that deserves a baby more than you.

Her outy could still turn into an inny and may take a few months. Don't worry about the pumping it takes a while for your milk to come in and for you to relax. So happy for you and anxiosly awaiting pics

God is good! The first poo poo diaper is a doozie. You might want to give the honor of changing that to a pro. On the other hand, it might not be a bad idea breaking Paul in from the start!

I'm so, so happy for the 3 of you. Words can't express what I'm feeling in my heart!

Hopefully, Paul passed on my messages to you. I called your room this morning (around 9AM), but no one answered. Please call me as soon as you are up to talking and let me know when I can stop by to see you and your little angel. Love ya!

Dear Ruth, I am so happy for you and Paul. Nadia is a lucky little princess to have you as a Mom. You will tell me whether I am right: I bet that all the sadness, pain and stress of TTC (and adopting) will become a faint memory as you get busy feeding, changing and eventually chasing Nadia :-)
