Going in Reverse

Sunday was the first day Nadia started traveling significant distances. The only problem is that she is trying to go forward but so far always goes backwards instead. This has led to many tears as she sees a toy she wants and instead of getting closer to it ends up farther away from it. Of course Mommy helps and moves the toy closer to Nadia. I plan to post a video clip showing her increased mobility, but I want to do it sometime when she's not fussing or crying.

This morning she got up at 6am. She had first awakened around 5am, but thankfully she didn't cry and went back to sleep until 6:00. I figure her wake up time will be earlier than I'd like until Daylight Savings goes into effect in March. If her body clock stays the same, then she'll be going to bed and getting up an hour later which would be perfect. Hopefully next fall when we switch the clocks back an hour I can adjust her body clock to go forward one hour. In light of her getting up between 6-6:30 every day instead of 7-7:30, I need to adjust her nap schedule as 9:00 is too late for the first nap, but we still need the first nap to be around 3pm or she has a hard time staying up until 6:30pm. I guess I need to try to expand some of her wake times beyond 2 hours.
You can see from today's photo that everything goes into her mouth. Isn't that the purpose of a mirror? LOL! She's playing with the purse her Great Aunt Debbie gave her for Christmas which came with a mirror, keys, bracelet, etc.

Miriam crawled backward at first too. It doesn't take them long to figure out how to get where they want to go... even backward. :)
