Bye Bye, Bottles

I decided yesterday was Nadia's last day using a bottle. It went better than expected this morning with the sippy cup. She didn't drink much milk before eating her oatmeal (she usually drinks 4-6 ounces before eating breakfast), but then about one hour after breakfast she drank almost the entire sippy cup full of milk (the munchkin one). YAY! Hopefully the transition won't be as tearful as I was anticipating.
The three pictures here were my 3 least favorite, but really they aren't bad either. The crawling pose was a huge challenge. I should have told the photographer Nadia doesn't crawl any more so that wouldn't be one I'd want to buy as it doesn't represent her well at 12 months old. They didn't try that pose earlier when it would have been appropriate. I like the yellow background though. I would have liked the number one poses with the yellow background. I can't wait to get the actual prints in a couple of weeks!
Nadia is REALLY into waving these days. For example, if someone says "hi" to her on the phone she waves. Too bad they can't see her waving, LOL!
I made my first purchase for the "jellybean" this past weekend. I'm going to a baby shower next month, and I wanted to give her a Bjorn bib (along with a couple of other items). I saw on Amazon it was a little cheaper if you buy two at once. So I'll give the red one as a gift and keep the blue one. I realize the jellybean won't be eating solid foods until next summer, but it was still exciting to purchase something for baby #2. :-) I have to
say these bibs are so amazing (thanks again, Lucia!). I realized the other day I misspoke when I said it was the first time she threw up. Actually it was the second. The first was in Antigua, and it happened when she was wearing the bib. The bib held ALL of it. Amazing. The waiter took the bib and cleaned it (we gave him an extra large tip!). So I guess Friday was the first time I had to clean up after such an incident (and she wasn't wearing the bib so it was on the couch, my clothes, her clothes, etc.). Anyhow I definitely recommend the Bjorn bib for feeding solid foods!!
The other purchase I made from Amazon at the same time as the bibs was two Nalgene water bottles (for Paul and I at work). I remember a few years ago when I saw a naturopathic doctor (in terms of ttc) she said reusing soft plastic bottles wasn't a good thing. So Paul and I are going to make the switch to these Nalgene bottles which are supposed to be safer in that "bad stuff" from the plastic won't get in the water we're drinking.
