Water Broke!

At 3:15 this morning my water broke. First we called Paul's parents to come up and watch Nadia. A few days ago I had started to pack a suitcase and had made a list of what still needed to go in the suitcase. We gathered those items (such as the boppy) and then called our neighbor. The neighbor sent one of her daughters over to stay at our house until Paul's parents arrived. We arrived at the hospital at about 4:30am. I was in the triage bed until about 6am. They have more than one triage room, and there are two beds in each room. Ironically, I have been in the same triage bed three times now - June 23, 2008, December 2, 2009, and December 12, 2009. Because I have not gone into labor and don't have any infections, they are going to try to wait until Wednesday, when I will hit 35 weeks, to deliver Ian. This morning I was still only 2cm dilated, and thus far I haven't started having regular contractions. I'm being given two different antibiotics by IV to prevent Ian and myself from getting any infections. If I give birth before Wednesday, then Ian must go to the NICU. If I make it until Wednesday then he won't automatically have to go there. So I'm hoping to make it until Wednesday. It's going to be hard to be separated from Nadia so much the next several days! I haven't asked yet what the visitation policy is; I'm praying she will be able to come see us every day. Right now I just want breakfast! I had peanut butter toast for dinner (that's all) and then before I went to bed I had a trail mix bar. I am hungry as usually I eat breakfast around 6am. They estimate that Ian weighs about 5lb 11oz now. Please pray that he'll be able to wait until Wednesday to be born!

Paul's final exam is supposed to be Monday morning at 8am. I think he's going to try to get an extension. I need to find people to proctor my exams for me next Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday night.

Wow! I was definitely suprised to see that! He must be in a hurry to be born in 2009!!! :) I hope you can make to 35 weeks...but if you don't, tomorrow is my birthday too ;) lol! When I had the twins for my IP's, they were born just over 5 weeks early...they were 5lbs 2 oz and 5lbs 6oz. They were both in the hospital for 3 days, no NICU. I bet Mr. Ian will be the same :) Lots of luck, keep us updated!!!
