Let me say she looks GORGEOUS in her pretty dress (peter pan type collar and it has a petticoat underneath!). We gave her a bath this morning (she didn't cry this time!), and she's dressed and ready for her first trip to church! I've been taking a nap most mornings so I hope I find another time to take one today as she didn't sleep as well last night although I did get at least 5 hours of sleep. Then this afternoon Paul's parents are coming over and she will be meeting her Great Grandmother for the first time. Then this evening she'll have her first trip to a restaurant as we are meeting Clark and his girlfriend at Cracker Barrel to celebrate his 40th bday. Whew... busy day considering most days Nadia and I just stay home all day and aren't on any schedule.
Here are my questions that I'd appreciate input from you experienced moms:
1. Do you have a particular nursing cover/privacy wrap that you recommend? I see some available at Walmart and BRU and wasn't sure if one kind was better than another. Just using a blanket does NOT work for me. She squirms too much especially in the initial latching on stage.
2. It seems EVERY time that I change her diaper, within 1 minute of getting the clean diaper on, I can hear her pooping. Is this normal? I was wondering if maybe the act of wiping her down there stimulates her body to action??? Of course sometimes she starts pooping before the clean diaper is on. Fun, fun, fun... LOL
3. For those of you who had a c-section, how long was it until you felt totally normal in the incision area? Also, did the scar remain and if so, how long until the scar at least faded (it's still bright red)? Of course I feel a million times better there than I did 3+ weeks ago. OUCH it hurt soooo much at first (especially doing things like getting in and out of bed).

With Jonah, he REFUSED to nurse under a blanket...so I either nursed in private (like a nursing room at the mall) or in the car.
Jonah used to do the pooping thing too...used to drive me crazy but he eventually stopped lol
My scar was red for probably a couple months before it started to fade...now you can hardly see it, the twins will be two in November. It hurt me for abour 6-8 weeks...it felt like it took forever to be able to just roll over in bed with out it hurting a little.

1. No particular blanket. I just nursed in private or used a blanket to cover myself, and left Noah exposed. :)
2. Noah STILL does this! I swear he's waiting for a clean diaper, LOL.
3. My scar is still bright red and raised a bit. It stopped hurting about 8 weeks out, but it itched for a while after that. Now I don't notice it at all unless Noah steps on it or something. THAT hurts!

I don't have any advice on the nursing blanket... I was parked on the couch for all the feedings and hardly got out of the house for the first three months. Then they switched to the bottle so I never had to nurse in public. As for the poops, before the kids arrival I told my mom "I have not changed a diaper in 10 years (my friend's daughter's)" and she replied "don't worry, in a week you'll be a pro" :-) So, yeah, lots of poopy diapers, also on the new ones. I think we were changing 24 diapers a day on avarage, in the first weeks!
As for the scar, I got lucky it did not bother me too much. I remember the itchiness. I think it was raised for a while but now it is fairly flat and dark (and low, so I can wear my bikini :-)) sorry I cannot remember how long it took for it to fade. Maybe you can try the almond oil on that, too, since it is good for the skin. By the way, how did it go with the stretch marks?
thanks for the happy birthday to baby bear! yeah both mine would go potty while I cleaned them with the wipe so I would just hang out and let it go for a little while -
I don't have anything to add about the blanket. Brianne would poop everytime I got a clean diaper on her. Sometimes I went through 3 diapers at a time. Tyler never did this. I could not look at the scar. I was afraid to and I don't like mirrors. It has been numb in that area every since. I do have more feeling there now. 2 years out..
