There are 2 times when Nadia might have been in the car for trips that exceed 2 hours one way. I have a grant mtg in Shippensburg on the 15th, and we were planning to attend a wedding in Philly on the 20th. Since Nadia doesn't fare too well in her car seat, I've decided just Paul will attend the wedding, and I'm trying to find a babysitter for Nadia for the 15th although it will be hard to be separated from her for 9 hours!!!! Grandma can't do it as she has scans at the hospital that day to see if the chemo worked.
We started trying to have children in May 2002. After pursuing fertility treatments, domestic, and international adoption, our daughter Nadia Renee was born on 6-24-08 (at 36w4d). IVF #2 resulted in Ian Alexander, who was born on 12-12-09 (at 34w3d). Oliver Elliot (IVF #3) was born on 8-7-12 (at 31w6d)! Three other pregnancies (in 2005, 2007, and 2013) ended in miscarriage. Our family is complete! We are so thankful for our three miracles!

I hear ya about traveling long distance in the car with a baby.
Kylie hated, hated the carseat. I couldn't even pull out of the driveway without her screeching.
It was horrible, but then my MIL found something made by Fisher Price. It's made out of cloth and it attaches to the car seat. It plays different music, lights up, and has little flaps for the baby to play with. Best of all, it comes with a remote control so you can turn it off and on while you're driving. It was $20. Kylie loved it, and stopped crying.
They don't make the exact one I had (4 years ago) but here's a link to a very similar one, also made by Fisher Price:
