Our Little Parrot

Ian has reached the stage where he will parrot back just about anything you ask him to say. That's not what I was doing with him in these videos. The first two I took today to show his pronunciation of a few foods, animals, and vehicles, and the third vidoe (shapes) was from last week. Today some of the other moms were having fun during Nadia's ballet class with getting him to attempt some rather difficult words like "hippopotamus." I have to say he did a pretty good job! His pronunciation still could use some improvement with many words, but there are a growing number of words he says 100% correctly now. For a long time he said "bo" for boat, but he now ends the word with the "t" sound, as one example. I wanted to capture a couple of videos so that in the future I can go back and hear his sweet voice. I love kids' voices at this stage. So adorable! It's a shame they grow out of this stage so quickly.

Nadia woke up earlier this morning (6:30), and she had trouble falling asleep this evening. She did however take a nap this afternoon. She fell asleep almost immediately at naptime, and she slept a little more than 2 hours. I have to say I'm relieved that her afternoon nap hasn't totally disappeared yet. Ian could take a lesson from her. He only napped for 20 minutes yesterday and today. He's not as prone to falling asleep in the car, which means I don't need to use the DVD player as much in the car. He's truly only taking one nap a day these days.
