Oliver's first snow!

We woke up to a winter wonderland! It was the perfect kind of snow - the trees were beautiful, the kids had fun in it, but the roads were fine. The downside of today's snowfall was that my mom had to postpone her trip up to see us. It was Oliver's first experience with snow. Sometimes I wonder why we make a big deal of all these firsts (ex. first Thanksgiving, first Christmas, etc.) because really the child is oblivious to all the festivities (even the first birthday party is really for the family not the child). The real firsts almost seem to be the first time they actually enjoy these experiences. I think it won't be until next winter that Oliver will really enjoy snow, but I had to take a picture to commemorate the first snowfall since he was born. He was only out for a few minutes. The other two played outside for awhile while Oliver and I were inside, and then during Oliver's brief nap I joined them to make a snowman and pull them on a sled. Paul usually does those things, but the snow melted before he got home.

Wow we didn't have that much snow, we had a dusting Sunday morning. Hoping its our second year of a snowfree Buffalo winter!
