Nadia will be attending her third (and for 2011 final) week of VBS starting tonight. This week it's at our church. I'll be teaching the Bible story twice each night - once to the group for ages 7-9 and once for those ages 10-12. I'm actually caught up in terms of grading, which is a wonderful feeling. I don't mean I have nothing to grade, as many students submit assignments early. I mean everything that was due during the first four weeks (the fifth week began today) has been graded. This morning I also made a lot of progress in writing the syllabi and welcome letters as well as getting the two online courses set up. I'm not caught up with housework, but I did clean the oven last week (for the first time since we moved here), and I made peanut butter cookies last night and baked ziti this afternoon. At least we won't starve. :-)
Speaking of eating, I made some small shells yesterday, and it hit me that Ian might be able to swallow them as they're
really tiny (and don't contain any ingredient we're supposed to avoid right now). I only put cheese on a small portion and saved the rest (plain) for Ian. I've been mixing them in his other dishes (such as applesauce or pureed sweet potatoes), and he's been swallowing them! He spit a few of them out, but he never threw up, and most of them he swallowed without incident. I felt like doing the dance of joy ( any of you remember Balki's dance on the show "Perfect Strangers"?). Now if we could just get this boy to chew for the first time in his life.
