Last night I had 5 students who didn't make it to class. That's unusually high for a graduate class. Three of those students didn't make it because of *snow* on the roads. Can you believe it? We didn't have any snow at the university, but evidently to the east they did. I live to the west of the university so I didn't encounter any on my way home, thankfully. A snow storm in March or even April isn't actually that uncommon, but what is really crazy is that today it's supposed to be in the 60's, tomorrow in the 70's, and Friday through Sunday the high is supposed to be in the low 80's. I don't recall going from snow to the 80's that quickly before! I am grateful though as the weather hasn't been that great the past several days. It's felt like winter again, and I was really enjoying spring weather. I am not really wanting to skip right to summer, but if I have to pick between snow and 81 degrees, I'll definitely pick 81 degrees. Nadia wanted to go outside yesterday, but I didn't take her due to how cold and rainy it was. If the weather forecast is correct, I should be taking her outside quite a bit every day for the next several days as it's supposed to be just plain gorgeous. This should make for one happy little girl as she sure does like to be outside. This afternoon I plan to take her (by car - I'm not making another 3+ mile hike) to a playground we haven't been to before. I think she'll have a blast! I also have been doing research on sandboxes as I'm thinking that would be a great thing to get for our backyard especially as this Saturday we plan to relocate the big pile of dirt that the fence company left behind. Paul's parents are coming up so that Paul and I can get a lot of yardwork done.
Ian had another good night last night. He slept almost 7 hours and then after nursing for an hour slept almost 2 hours. I was in bed for about 8 hours. It's so much nicer to start one's day at 5:55am rather than 4:55am. Yesterday he took two short (30-45 minute) naps in the Nap Nanny. Hopefully we can do better with that today. Gabby definitely likes getting Ian dressed as when I get home he's never wearing the outfit he was wearing when I left for work. I don't change his clothes (or mine) every time he spits up on them. Nadia's nap has been consistently 90 minutes long. Maybe that's all she needs? I sure enjoyed those 3 hour naps she took for a couple of weeks. I am very happy though with how late she's getting up in the morning. I've been taking her up to bed sometime between 7:45-8:00pm each night and she never gets up before 6am any more and many days it's after 7am! Way to go, Nadia!!
